With Sportgo Lite's Position Assistant you can RSVP for your game knowing exactly which position you will be playing. Let’s go over how to use this ‘smart’ feature of Sportgo Lite!
Sportgo Lite's Position Assistant makes sure you have all your positions filled and can even ask your ‘Spare’ players to fill-in at the appropriate position too!
Turn Positions On
Your manager has to turn on the Position Assistant in order to use this feature. But don’t worry! It’s super easy!
To do this, head to your team’s Configure page and open the Event Defaults tab.
Turn the Position Assistant to ON.
Create Your Positions
Start by selecting the Positions tab on your team's Navigation bar.
Next, you need to set the maximum and a minimum number of players for your team for each event.
For each event, when your team's maximum number of players have checked-in, no further players can check-in for that event.
If you haven’t reached the minimum number of players you need for an event, your Spare list will be invited. For more on Spares, click here.
After that, we will need to create your team's positions and the maximum and a minimum number of players you need for that position, for each event.
As you see above, the Forward position on this team requires at least 4 players and no more than 9, for every event.
You can then create the remainder of your team's positions which are added to the Position list below.
For this example, we’ve created Forward, Defence, and Goaltender.
Notice that with Goaltenders, we only need 1 for every game, so you can set the maximum and minimum to be equal. This means that once a goaltender signs up for your game, no further players assigned as goaltenders can sign-up for that game.
Also keep in mind, that your positional maximum and minimum numbers must be equal to the total maximum and minimum numbers for your team as a whole. But if math isn’t your strong suit, we will take care of that for you, adding an ‘Any Position’ spot to fill in the remaining spots.
The next step is to input your teammate’s positions. On the Players page, each player can be given their primary position and a backup position.
For the example above, you can see that Colin has his primary position set to Defence, but if he can also play Goaltender as his backup. While for Haywood, he’s a Forward but will be play Defence as a backup position.
RSVP for Your Event
Now that your teammates have their position's assigned, Sportgo Lite will track who’s signed in and at what position.
This way, the manager will know that they have enough players at each position. Or in the case that you don’t have the right number of players per position, Sportgo Lite will assign people to play at their backup position, or if that doesn’t work, Sportgo Lite will begin inviting your spares.
